I would strongly recommend Chad Carpenter as a QB mentor and coach.

Chad has been working with my son James since 6th grade helping him through middle school, high school, and now in college.  It was apparent the first time we met Chad that he was a man of high character and that he knew football and especially the quarterback position extremely well.  Chad has always been honest with us.  He has always been flexible and easy to work with.  Long story short, Chad has earned our trust.

Though we live in different cities, Chad has developed a program that is quite effective.  First, he and James get together 2-3 times a year for very intense coaching sessions.  Throughout the year they also have remote coaching sessions at least once or twice a week.  During the season, James and Chad will often review video for an upcoming opponent or for the last game.  Each week during the offseason, Chad provides a list of drills and a throwing schedule that James will then execute and film.  Afterwards, he and Chad review the video together and work toward improvement.

Chad’s program is one of the most complete programs I have come across.  In a nutshell, he develops quarterbacks along four axes:

  1. QB Speed, Quickness, and Strength Training

  2. QB Technique Development

  3. Football IQ Development

  4. Mental and Emotional Toughness

James greatly enjoys working out with Chad in Arizona.  Though the workouts are some of the toughest he’s gone through, he has always loved the challenge.  As a quarterback he wants to be pushed to be the best he can be and Chad provides this motivation.  Chad also understands the mechanics of the QB position and has helped James improve his accuracy, the quickness of his release, and his footwork.  He is also constantly reviewing James’ form and will work with him to correct any technique issues that crop up.  In addition, through many hours of joint film study, he has helped James better learn the game.  Finally, he has helped James through the mental and emotional challenges that come with playing the position.  He has always been there for James, willing to take a call at any time.

Bottom-line, Chad has been a difference maker in our son's life.
